Elegy
[1m34s] Fluid camerawork woven with narration
and soundtrack to tell the backstory of an instrumental piece tied to a significant personal life event. Feedback From Digital Video Production professor: "The Elegy is a great visual narrative, as well as audio…a short but moving piece…excellent work." From Adobe: "Adobe...congratulates you for achieving Semifinal status... Adobe applauds your talent." |
Update Oddity
[1m50s] Final Project "Re-imagining the Masters," for Digital Video Production.
Adapted from the scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey in which Dave nixes the HAL 9000 supercomputer. Here HAL is an old acoustic guitar being displaced by a shiny electric. The soundtrack was essential to driving the images, with interplay between the iconic Strauss composition and excerpts of HAL's voice from the scene. Feedback "From framing the shots to syncing the action (the guitar falling to the bass drum is excellent) to focal length in shots, this is a winner. Excellent work." |
Faux Tutorial
[5m00s] Digital Video Production project: develop a tutorial video from concept to clip.
Parody involving Burt Bacharach's "What the World Needs Now is Love." Feedback Professor: "Let me catch my breath. Laughing on the floor... in other words, excellent job. Funny, well edited, well written." From school blog: “Knocked it out of the park…everything about this video show Matthew’s total creativity: scripting, shooting, editing, effects, irony, and more. Not to mention the trombone effects themselves.” |
Four Angles: Fluid Fire Redux
[0m25s] Digital Video project.
Capturing the same event from four distinct angles. Feedback "Great job. Humor, precision, and great seamless editing. Excellent." |
